Moonlighting - By Karen Ellyard

February 2014

This month I would like to speak to you about time.

I often hear people say to me, if only I had time to do what I need to do to grow spiritually.

I have come to understand that people tend to compartmentalise who they are by where they are and what they are doing. I have had people say to me I try to put aside some time every day to be present. Having been thinking on this I think wow, way to load more pressure on yourself in a life that is often too busy and where time just seems to move faster and faster.

I really believe that walking with spirit is the essence of who we are and not meant to be turned on at times. We don’t have to wait until we get home from work to practice being present. Being present is a state we are in, in all things, whether working, playing, gardening, cooking, cleaning, learning etc. The exercises and methods I teach are not for putting aside time for but for adding to our lives. For example, I cleanse and seal my aura every morning in the shower whilst I condition my hair. I use Reiki many times during the day, during work, during meals, during gardening, these tools I teach are an extension of who I am, I don’t have to make time to turn them on and use them.

I believe being connected is a way of life all day not just parts of the day. I believe strongly in intention so I try to charge each action I do with intention. I also believe that every thought has an active, creating vibration so I am constantly working on being aware of my thoughts and how I use them and what is manifesting.

Gratitude is the energy that attracts abundance and I look for areas to be grateful constantly, not just in the easy and beautiful things in our life. If we can work on weaving what we want into all parts of our life, eventually it will become our life and instead of trying to find time to look after ourselves and experience joy, peace and gratitude you will need to make time for stress and fear :)

Different ways work for different people and I would really encourage you to find what works for you and use it in all you do.

A spiritual tool is like a permission slip to allow ourselves to be more of who we really are and the more we use them the closer we are to our true selves.

I wish you a life full of present moments…

Love & blessings

Living the Day

A challenge…. Decide that tomorrow you are going to notice everyone in your life and listen to them and pay them attention and enjoy them and be grateful for the encounter. This won’t take more time as they are going to come through your life anyway.

How did the day feel? Do you feel as if you had a good day? Try this for the week and see how being present during the day can change our lives.
