This month I would like to speak to you about adding colour to our lives. Colours can have such a wonderful impact upon how we feel I thought it would be good to see how we can use this simple technique. Colour can be used to inspire emotional and physical responses. We can use colour during our meditations. We can wear colours to create certain moods. Colour can be used in our homes and work places to calm, heighten our energy as well as heighten responses to us. Colour can also be used in healing.

Here is a brief summary of what Colours can do so you can use them to help achieve the results you want.

Red – is the colour of energy, great if you are feeling run down. Either visualize the colour red or see yourself adding a spot of red to your aura. Be careful not to add too much as it can also move to anger and hyperactivity if used in large amounts.

Yellow is the colour of our mental intellect. Use it when you need to learn or study. It can also be helpful to cheer our moods.

Green is the colour of calm, balance and healing. Use this colour to bring harmony to situations that need some help. Visualize yourself in nature or wrap yourself in green.

Orange can also help our energy levels, not as powerful as red as tends to stimulate balance.

Blue is the universal colour of healing. Imagine yourself in a blue soft blanket if you are feeling stressed. It helps promote inner peace.

Indigo – promotes strength and growth, both physically and spiritually. Visualize the water in your shower a deep indigo colour cascading down over you filling you with greater intuition and understanding.

Silver represents spiritual love, having the ability to give for no other reason that you have it to give. No acknowledgement needed. A symbol of purity. See yourself surrounded by a silver mist, move through it soaking it up.

Brown is the colour of earth, grounding, stability and endurance. See yourself sitting in nature with your feet on the ground. See the colour brown filling your feet and going through into the earth.

Colours can be used in so many ways, paint them into your aura, breath in the colour just to make a couple of suggestions.

Stress Buster

Sit in a comfortable chair and close your eyes. Breathe slowly and deeply.

Visualise the colour blue, it may be in the form of a soft downy blanket, or fog or whatever you choose. As you breathe in and out imagine the blue wrapping around you, starting at your head and slowly winding itself around you until it reaches your feet.

If you are feeling sad see threads of pink winding its way through the blanket, softly weaving its way.

Enjoy being encased in the healing colour of blue for few moments before you get up.
